A simple LM78XX regulator board (power supply) for providing simple positive voltage linear regulation.

The vREF PSU (LGE018) PCB is a simple linear positive voltage regulator circuit for when you need a quick voltage reference.

The PCB was formatted to the 4U Modular standard of 1” and 2” for the standard mounting hole spacing for our PCB mounting brackets.
It was primarily made to be used to update the older paperface era Serge Modular circuits that require 6V voltage rails. Which allows older
era circuits to run on the newer power standards of +/-12V rails and modern power supplies available.

But this board can also be used for example…. Buchla 100 modules run off +15Vdc… You could build a boat using a +18Vdc wallwart, and regulate the incoming voltage down to +15V using an LM7815.

Images above show the Vref pcb installed onto a THC 73-75 PCB to eliminate the need for a 3 rail power supply so it can just run off +/-12V. I recommend using the chunkier LM7806 TO220 package regulator instead of the pictured 78L06 TO-92 package. The
smaller package works as the panel doesn’t draw that much for current, but it would still be better to use the TO220 package. I use the VRef PCB as the main power input for +/-12V. Then I run the 6V output, V+, V- and Ground wires, soldered under the pcb to the 73-75 pcb to their
proper places.
