The LGE024 Quad Bi-Directional Router is a compact utility module featuring four independent voltage-controlled 1x2 bi-directional signal routers. Designed for both audio and control voltage duties, each section allows signals to be dynamically switched, routed, or redirected throughout a patch with clean rail-to-rail signal handling.
Because each router is bi-directional, signals can flow either way through the switch network, making the module extremely flexible for patch programming, waveform routing, gate distribution, feedback paths, sequential signal selection, or creating complex modulation structures.
The LGE024 excels as a patch utility for live performance and experimental systems alike. Use it to switch oscillators between destinations, reroute modulation sources on the fly, alternate audio paths, build primitive logic-style routing structures, or dynamically reconfigure feedback networks under manual or voltage control.
Each router section features a three-position toggle switch that determines how the routing state is controlled:
ON — Forces the router into its active switched state
OFF — Holds the router in its default state
EXT — Allows the router to be controlled externally via the CV input
When set to EXT, the router responds to gate or control voltage signals. The switching threshold occurs at approximately a +1.2V rising edge, allowing the module to work with standard gate signals as well as many LFOs, envelopes, sequencers, and other control voltage sources.
Each section also includes a dual-color status LED that visually indicates the current routing state. The LED changes color depending on the switch position and routing state, making it easy to monitor switching activity and signal flow at a glance during patching or live performance.
This makes the LGE024 especially useful for creating animated patches, voltage-controlled signal paths, rhythmic routing changes, pseudo-sequential switching, or dynamic feedback structures.
Despite its compact footprint, the module becomes one of those “always useful” utilities that quickly finds its way into nearly every patch.

DIY PCB and assembled versions available
** 4U Modular is a term used for the format most commonly known as “Serge Format” or “Loudest Warning Format”. Out of respect for the ever growing format, 4U Modular is the easiest way to refer to it. More Specifically it refers to the panel height and mounting hole style. 4U Modular will patch up just fine with other 4U "Serge" formats such as "Random Source", but it will not mount in RS boats or Buchla Boats (or power off Buchla power for that matter). An info page about this will be added to the website soon to make this a lot more easy to understand.
